I’ve always had a fascination for computers and technology, and I made a few apps for the iPhone,iPod touch, and iPad.

I’d like to share a couple with you today. My first app was a unique fortune teller called “Earth Fortune”, that would display different colors of earth depending on what your fortune was.

我一直对计算机和科技着迷，于是我研发了一些适用于iPhone、iPod touch, and iPad. 今天我想和你们分享两个我研发的应用。我的第一个应用程序很特别，它是一个叫“地球财富”的财富测试器，它能根据你的财富在地球图形上呈现出不同色彩。

My favorite and most successful app is “Justin Bieber”, which is…… which is a Justin Bieber whack-a-mole. I created it because a lot of people at school disliked JustinBieber a little bit, so I decided to make the app.

So I went to work programming it, and I released it just before the holidays in 2010.

我最喜欢同时也最成功的应用叫“Justin Bieber”，它是。。。。它是一个贾斯汀.比伯打地鼠的游戏。我创造这个应用是因为在学校有很多人都不太喜欢贾斯汀.比伯，所以我决定开发一个这样的应用。于是我就开始编程，并在2010年假期之前发布了这个应用。

A lot people ask me, how did I make these? A lot of times just because the person who asked the question wants to make an app also.

很多人都问我，我是怎么开发出这些应用的？大多数情况下，那些问这个问题的人其实也想研发应用程序。

A lot of kids these days like toplay games, but now they want to make them, and it’s difficult, because not many kids know where to go to find out how to make a program. I mean, for soccer, you could go to a soccer team. For violin, you could get lessons for a violin. But what if you want to make an app?

如今很多孩子都喜欢玩游戏，但是，他们现在也想要制作游戏，这就很困难，因为没有多少孩子知道怎样找到制作程序的方法。我的意思是，比如你想学足球，你可以加入一支足球队。想学小提琴，你可以上小提琴课。但是如果你想开发一款应用呢？

And their parents, the kid’s parents might have done some of these things when they were young, but not many parents have written apps. But what do you go to find out how to make an app?Well, this how I approached it, this is what I did.

孩子的父母年轻的时候可能也会做一些类似这样的事情，但没有多少父母写过应用程序。但是你如何才能找到制作应用程序的方法呢？一下就是我的方法，我就是这样去做的。

First of all, I’ve been programming in multiple other programming languages to get the basics down,such as Python, C, Java, etc. And then Apple released the iPhone, and with it,the iPhone software development kit, and the software development kit is asuite of tools for creating and programming an iPhone app.

首先，我一直在用多种其他编程语言进行编程，以便掌握基础知识。例如Python语言、C语言以及Java语言等。之后苹果公司发行了iPhone，以及配套的iPhone软件开发工具，这个软件开发工具是一套用来开发和编程iPhone应用程序的工具。

This opened up awhole new world of possibilities for me, and after playing with the software development kit a little bit, I made a couple of apps, I made some test apps.One of them happened to be “Earth Fortune”, and I was ready to put “EarthFortune” on the App Store, and so I persuaded my parents to pay the 99 dollarfee to be able to put my apps on the App Store. They agreed, and now I haveapps on the App Store.

这为我打开了一个全新的，充满可能性的世界，在稍稍体验了这套软件开发工具之后，我开发出了几个应用，以及一些测试应用。其中一个就是“地球财富”，我准备将“地球财富”这个应用放到应用商店，因此我说服了我的父母为我支付99美元的费用，以便我的应用程序在应用商店上线。他们同意了，于是现在应用商店上便有了我开发的应用了。

I’ve gotten a lot of interest and encouragement from myfamily, friends, teachers and even people at the Apple Store, and that’s been ahuge help to me. I’ve gotten a lot of inspiration from Steve Jobs, and I’vestarted an app club at school, and a teacher at my school is kingly sponsoringmy app club. Any student at my school can come and design, learn how to design an app.

我从我的家人、朋友、老师、甚至是应用商店的用户那里得到了很多的关注和鼓励，这些对我的帮助是巨大的。我也从史提夫.乔布斯那里得到了很多启发，在学校，我建立了一个app社团，我学校的一位老师很友好地赞助了我的app俱乐部。我们学校的任何学生都可以来学习如何设计一个应用程序。

This is so I can share my experiences with others. There’s these programs called the iPad Pilot Program, and some districts have them. I’m fortunate enough to be part of one. A big challenge is, how should the iPads be used, and what apps should we put on the iPads.

这样我就可以与其他人分享我的经验。目前有一些叫iPad Pilot Program的应用，有些地区可以下载这些程序，很幸运，我所在的地区正是这些地区之一。一个巨大的挑战是，iPad应该如何使用，以及我们应该在iPad上安装什么应用程序。

So we’re getting feedback from teachers at the school to see what kind of apps they’d like. When we design the app and we sell it, it will be free to local districts and other districts that we sell to, all the money from that will go into the local ed foundations.

所以我们从学校老师那获取反馈，看看他们喜欢什么样的应用。当我们设计完应用程序并将其销售时，当地区域可以免费使用，而从其他区域收取的费用，所有的收入都将捐给当地的教育基金会。

These days, students know, usually know a little bit more than teachers withthe technology. So this is a resource to teachers, and educators should recognize this resource and make good use of it.

I’d like to finish up by saying what I’d like to do in the future. First of all, I’d like to create more apps, more games. I’m working with a third party company to make an app.

如今，学生在科技方面掌握得通常比老师们多那么一点点。所以这对老师而言是一种资源，而教育工作者们应该认识到这种资源并充分利用。最后，我想谈谈我未来的计划。首先，我想要开发更多应用及游戏。目前我正在与第三方公司合作开发应用程序。

I’d like to get into Android programming and development, and I’d like to continuemy app club, and find other ways for students to share knowledge with others.Thank you.
