这件作品是弗洛伦泰因·霍夫曼与UAP（上海）艺术设计咨询有限公司合作的都江堰熊猫艺术品。
This is a Dujiangyan panda artwork made by Florentijn Hoffman in cooperation with UAP（Shanghai） Art Design Consulting Co., LTD..
“自拍熊猫”以巨型尺寸呈现——它身长26.5米,由300万根漆面不锈钢丝固定而成，这些不锈钢丝虽然很硬，但在视觉上却如绒毛般柔软，邀请人们前来抚摸。大熊猫手持一部巨型智能手机，期待着公众与它自拍互动。
The 'Selfie Panda' comes in huge size -- it's 26.5 meters long and is held together by 3 million lacquered stainless steel wires.These stainless steel wires, though hard, are visually fluffy and invite people to touch them. The giant panda holds a giant smartphone and expects the public to take selfies and interact with it.
前期，霍夫曼团队到都江堰采风，通过他对都江堰山、水、道、熊猫的深入理解，加上他独特的设计风格，为都江堰设计了这一个城市公共艺术品。
In the early stage, Hoffman's team went to Dujiangyan to have a tour study. Through his deep understanding of the mountain, water, Taoism and panda in Dujiangyan, as well as his unique design style, he designed this urban public artwork for Dujiangyan.
“这个项目对我来所意义非凡，因为我知道几千年来都江堰一直是熊猫的天堂。目前在都江堰的玉堂和青城山镇共有两处大熊猫保护研究基地。” 艺术家霍夫曼说。“为都江堰市这个“三遗之地”创作一个引人入胜的大型雕塑是一件非常值得高兴的事情。作为一位艺术家，受到认可并获邀在如此特殊的地方创作一件标志性作品是一种荣誉。”霍夫曼补充道。
“This project is significant to me, as I know that in thousands of years, Dujiangyan has always been a paradise for Pandas. At present, there are two panda conservation and research bases in Yutang and Qingchengshan town of Dujiangyan. " says FlorentiJn Hofman. "It is a great pleasure to create an engaging and larger than life sculpture for DuJiangyan. As an artist, it is always an honour to be invited, recognised and create such an iconic work for such a special place." adds Hofman.

霍夫曼介绍道，“在都江堰期间，我了解到2005年一只野生大熊猫闯进了都江堰市区的故事，激发了我的创作灵感。我设计创作的这只大熊猫，仿佛时光流转回到了数十年前‘熊猫进城’的场景，每一位到访者见到这只熊猫都能够体会到那种难以言表的兴奋。作品中熊猫举起手机进行自拍具有很强的娱乐性，那怡然自得的神情，悠闲自在的姿态，也是对当地生活即——‘长寿生态城市’的一种艺术语言的表述，将给每一位观者亲切、愉悦的感觉，作品也积极鼓励人们参与到作品的互动中，作为艺术家，我愿复原那带有梦幻色彩的真实故事，带给每一位访客终身难忘的全新体验。”
Hoffman said :"During my stay in Dujiangyan, I was inspired by the story of a wild panda that walked into the downtown area of Dujiangyan in 2005.It's like going back in time to the days when pandas went to the city decades ago, and every visitor seeing the panda can experience the excitement beyond words. The “panda” hold up the phone for selfies are highly entertaining. Its happy and contented expressions and casual postures are also an expression to the local life in an art language, which will give a kind and pleasant feeling to every viewer. This work also actively encourages people to involve in the interaction. As an artist, I would like to restore the fantasy the real story to give every visitor a lifetime unforgettable new experience.”
2005年12月大熊猫“盛林一号”出现在都江堰市闹市区

被称为设计鬼才的霍夫曼知名度相当高，他的作品均采用环保材料制作而成，为人们广泛认知，其中包括“胖猴子”（2011年在巴西圣保罗展出）、“大黄兔”（2011年在瑞典厄勒布鲁展出）、粉红猫（2014年5月在上海亮相）、大黄鸭、月兔等。
Well known as the genius of design, Mr. Hofman’s works adopt the environmentally-friendly materials and are extensively recognized by people. His works include Fat Monkey (St. Paulo, Brazil, 2011), Big Yellow Rabbit (Orebro, Sweden, 2011), Pink Cat (Shanghai, China, 2014), Rubber Duck and Moon Rabbit.
目前，60多只憨态可掬的国宝大熊猫常年生活在都江堰的两个熊猫基地内。都江堰成为“人均拥有大熊猫最多”的城市。
At present, more than 60 pandas, which are national treasures, live in the two panda bases in Dujiangyan all year round.Dujiangyan is the city with the most pandas per capita.
现在这件公共艺术品即将亮相在天府绿道上，无论是从体量上还是其艺术形态、艺术创作理念上，都是独树一帜的。相信每一位来访者、每一个观赏者都将终生难忘，从艺术角度出发，让人们更深刻了解这座“世界自然遗产、世界文化遗产、世界水利灌溉工程遗产之城，这座名副其实的“熊猫之都”。请大家一起期待新晋网红新地标吧！
