据蒙古媒体（Montsame）报道，新的成吉思汗国际机场已开始在蒙古运营，它将为 12 家航空公司提供服务，其中包括俄罗斯国际航空公司（Aeroflot）和俄罗斯安加拉航空公司（Angara Airlines）。
据该社报道，从新机场飞往东京的首个航班由蒙古国家航空公司——蒙古民用航空（MIAT Mongolian Airlines）执飞。该机场在日本政府的帮助下启动运营。
机场距离首都乌兰巴托 50 公里，拥有一条跑道，每年可接待乘客200万人次。机场面积超过10.4万平方米。
