由原本美术馆、大同市美术家协会主办的“任小颖 艺术生命历程讲座”将在2021年7月24日下午3:00正式开始。
作为一名独立生命个体的艺术家,任小颖渴望追求艺术创作的自由,但在每个时代,艺术家都不得不面对来自社会环境的影响,本次讲座将由任小颖本人讲述如何面对与克服这些问题,执着追求自己艺术信仰,真诚地面对自己的内心和精神诉求的故事。
The lecture "Ren Xiaoying’s Artistic Life and Career" hosted by Organizer Art Museum and Datong artists Association will officially start at 3:00 pm on July 24, 2021.
As an independent individual artist, Ren Xiaoying is eager for the freedom of artistic creation. However, it seems inevitable that artists face the influence of the social environment in every era. In the lecture, Ren Xiaoying will tell the story of how to face and overcome these problems,persistently pursue her own artistic beliefs, and sincerely face her own inner and spiritual demands.

大二时,我就意识到艺术就是一种表达,内在需要产生的,发源于心灵的,才是美的。艺术史就是一部艺术语言的历史,技术语言也要个人化。
艺术就是一种创造。
While the second year of university, I realized that art is a kind of expression. What needs to be generated internally and comes from the heart is the beauty. Art history is a history of artistic language, and technical language should also be personalized.
Art is a kind of creation.
任小颖作为一位艺术家,无疑是中国当代艺术从80年代到今天的一个缩影,是30多年来中国当代艺术中一个特别有价值的个案,是至今依然保持着理想主义精神的为数极少的艺术家。
Ren Xiaoying, artist, is undoubtedly a microcosm of Chinese contemporary art from the 1980s to the present, a particularly valuable case in Chinese contemporary art over the past 30 years, and one of the few artists who still maintain the spirit of idealism.

九十年代下的躺平
"Couch potato" in 90s
任小颖从自身的生命体验出发,创造出其特有的魔幻现实的不祥之物,神秘,冷漠,紧张,麻木的注视着人类,警示着人类,也将他自己托举在繁星点点的夜空之中。
Basing on his own life experience, Ren Xiaoying creates his own unique ominous things of magic realism, which are mysterious, indifferent, nervous and numb to stare at human beings and warn them, and also hold himself up in the starry night sky.

八十年代与九十年代初,是中国知识分子与艺术家们整体反思个体生命及社会群体存在意义的初醒时期。任小颖作为积极投入当时艺术思潮的艺术家,他的作品用一种朴实的素描形式真诚的表达了他自己的生命对那个曾经开始觉醒的时代精神的回应;任小颖以一种超现实主义的表现手法把他对那个社会及个体精神开始体味自由但仍残留着些许挥之难去的苦痛表达得耐人寻味;他用一种灵魂梦游般的超强想象,一种孤独的灵魂自己与自己既对抗又憧憬自由的境界诉说着他当时五味杂呈的生命。
It’s first time for the group of Chinese intellectuals and artists to reflect on the significance of individual life and the existence of social groups in 80s and early 90s. Ren Xiaoying, as an artist who actively engaged in the artistic trend of thought at the time, sincerely expressed his life's response to the spirit of the time that had begun to awoken with his works in a simple sketch form. He showed meaningfully that the society and individual spirit began to appreciate freedom but still had some lingering difficulty in a surrealistic way. He told his intricate life with a kind of soul sleepwalking super imagination, reaching a special state of consciousness that the lonely soul confronted itself and longed for freedom.

在这个浮躁的时代,看到任小颖的画,我感觉到心痛,他是一个勇士,守望阵地,坚守着信念和尊严,生命的孤独像一把锋利的刀,深深地刺到我。
It’s a series of Ren Xiaoying's paintings in the 1980s and 1990s. Ostensibly,it seems that Ren Xiaoying didn’t try hard but preferred to skating by since 35 years ago. But he has achieved inner spiritual output and talked to his own heart.
In this impetuous era, Ren Xiaoying's paintings make me feel heartbroken. He is a warrior who holds fast to his faith and dignity. The loneliness of life is like a sharp knife, which deeply cuts me.

世纪初的思考
Reflections on the Beginning of the 21th Century
从他所表达出的视觉图像来看,他关注的主要是个体的内心感受。他作品中的人,形体是高度简化概括的,通过身体姿势和简单的表情,表达出的大多是禁锢、压抑、孤独等情绪。这种情绪如果只是少数人的,任小颖的作品就难以获得更多人的认同。如果这种情绪不只是他和少数人独有,也不只是很偶然很少见的情绪,任小颖的作品就可能被更多的人认同乃至产生共鸣。
From the visual images he showed, what he focused principally on was the inner feelings of individuals. The figures in his works are hugely simplified. Most of them express emotions such as confinement, depression and loneliness through body postures and simple facial expressions. If this sentiment is only shared by a minority of people, Ren Xiaoying's works will find it difficult to gain recognition from more people. If this kind of emotion is not only unique to him and a few people, nor is it just an occasional and rare emotion, Ren Xiaoying's works may be recognized and even resonate by more people.

正茂的风华,头发放光的青春,携带新锐的逆叛反叛批判分明人世的黑白,张扬着现世存在的幻灭惶惑威胁恐惧,以及素描昼夜交替留下的些许温暖,今天排列起来何尝不是拒绝隔世的灯幻。
The flourishing allure, the youth with shiny hair, the cutting-edge and poignant rebellion decidedly criticizing the whole world, the vivid representations of disillusionment, confusion, threat and fear that exist still today, as well as the warmth produced by the sketch that is also an alternate of day and nignt, the depiction of which isn’t it the hazy and kindly illusion.
无论世界多么糟糕
“猫头鹰”都带着铁打的翅膀
在天空中自由飞翔
虽然,“猫头鹰”铁打的翅膀遮蔽不住日落的阳光
但“猫头鹰”依然坚强
“猫头鹰”生活在黎明前的黑暗中
等待着黎明的曙光
对未来充满着美好的期待
No matter how bad the world is
"Owls" all have iron wings
Fly freely in the sky
Although, "owl’s" iron wings can not block the light of the setting sun
But owl is still strong
The owl lives in the dark before dawn
Waiting for the flush of dawn
It’s full of expectations for the dreamy future
