ABUROBOCON2021 comes to a successful conclusion

TheABUROBOCON2021was held in Jimo District, Qingdao on 12 December. After two rounds of fierce tournament, the team fromInstitut Teknologi Sepuluh Novemberwon the championship, while the Wuhan University team missed out on the title by an arrow and ended up in sixth place.

In a post-contest interview, LiyeXu, head of the judging team for theABUROBOCON2021, told the journalist that this was the first time in the 20 years since theABUROBOCON2021was held that the tournament was conducted in a combination of online and offline methods: "Although there were some problems encountered in the process, the time control and overall situation met our expectations."

According toLiyeXu, the 21 schools that participated this year all performed very well: "There were teams that did very well and were able to achieve a perfect score of 80 for both rounds. There were also teams that had a tough time participating, such as the Egyptian team, whose tournament venue was outdoors. Due to the time difference, it was still light when the Egyptian team participated in the first round and it was not light until the second round in the afternoon."

LiyeXuis looking forward to next year's tournament, "I look forward to more universities in China participating next year, and schools participating in the international tournament to be of a higher standard and play more consistently, to be in ideal condition at the tournament and bring back the Asia Pacific ABU title."
