In June, as the fragrance of jujube flowers wafts, Guigang Qin, the intangible cultural heritage inheritor of green tea making techniques in Laoling of Dezhou, northern Shandong, is picking the last crop of jujube bud on a thousand year-old jujube tree in a big yard in Zhangmingchuan village.
“Jujube flower tea is rich in many amino acids,vitamins and mineral substances. It can help to refresh and calm our nerves、strengthen the spleen and replenish qi、boost the immune system,”Qin said.
After processes of purifying, washing, airing, sterilizing and disinfecting, Qin began to fire the tea with a pan, and waves of fragrance are smelt.
After adding boiled water, the tea has soft green color.
In recent years,based on the advantaged resources of jujube forest,Laoling has continued to extend the industrial chains of golden silk jujube.
