China National Western-part Computing Power Industry Alliance was established in Yinchuan, capital of northwestern China’s Ningxia region on August 25.
The alliance aims supporting the national “east-to-west computing resource transfer project,” which channels more date in the eastern part of the country for computing in the less developed western regions.
It will work with four key areas, namely the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the Yangtze River Delta region, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and the Chengdu-Chongqing region, in data and computing to form a national industry chain of computing power.
With the joint efforts made by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and local computing power hubs, more than 100 members of the alliance in 16 provinces and regions across the country have cooperated on the computing power supply and demand in data center improvement, manufacturing expansion, and data integration.
In February, China launched the “east-to-west computing resource transfer project” by building a new computing power network system integrating data centers, cloud computing, and big data.
