Netflix 在今天的「TUDUM Japan」活动上宣布，游戏《鬼武者》将动画化，未来在 Netflix 上播出。
本作的总监督是执导过《十三刺客》的 三池崇史，参与过 CG 动画《龙之信条》制作的 須貝真也 担任监督，由动画工作室 サブリメイション 负责动画制作。
主角的角色造型来自在电影《宫本武藏》中饰演宫本武藏的 三船敏郎。
