Despite holding many important posts at the same time, Chen Yongqiang values his relationship with Lingnan the most.
虽然有很多身份和职务，但陈永锵最为珍视的，是自己与岭南的关系。
When it comes to art, he gives top priority to poetry over painting. He is of the view that "poetry is the soul of all forms of arts".
谈到艺术，他首先拿起的是自己的诗集，而非为他带来荣誉的绘画。他反复强调诗学和绘画的关系，并认为“诗歌是一切艺术的灵魂”。
