11月24日正值藏历的十月初一，这一天也是西藏林芝市的工布新年。工布新年是西藏最早的新年，每年藏历的十月初一开始，林芝市的巴宜区、米林县以及工布江达县一带的群众便会庆祝新年，用传统的转田、祭神等活动来庆贺新年的到来。
