2009年1月6日，在新疆吐鲁番地区鄯善县境内的一处火焰山下，当地农民施工时发现汉族男性干尸。他梳着清代的长辫子、穿着粗麻的棉袄、鞋帽都是古代的样式。
据研究人员介绍：他的出现证明了，在清朝吐鲁番地区鄯善县有汉族居民或者军队生活驻扎。
