render在法律英语中的含义及用法

render一词在《元照英美法词典》中有4层含义：

(1)作出(判决、裁决)；判处

(2)表示；汇报；开出(账单等)；呈报；提供；提出(理由)；呈递

(3)履行；实行；实施；执行

(4)放弃；让与；给；给付；纳贡

翻译时，不能照搬词典，需要我们灵活处理，可以分为以下几种情况：

(1) 作出

(2) 提供

合同中，render常与performance并用，构成render performance (含义等同于 perform)表示“履行义务”，如：

当事人就迟延履行约定违约金的，违约方支付违约金后，还应当履行债务。

如果供应商未提供约定的对价的内容，伍尔特有权根据中国法律的规定行使法定抵销权和保留权，并且有权拒绝履行合同义务。

(3) 实施

render在合同中还经常表示“使得”，让英文表达显得更加地道。如：
