2023年11月28日，欧盟发布POPs法规(EU) 2019/1021修订草案，拟议将HBCDD（六溴环十二烷）限值从之前的100 mg/kg降低至75 mg/kg，除非是用于建筑或土木工程的EPS和XPS隔热材料，且这些材料在生产中使用了再生聚苯乙烯。该草案反馈期将于2023年12月26日截止。
