Dana IU

Dana IU是深圳前海哈罗港人子弟学校幼儿园的园长,拥有丰富的经验和深厚的教育背景。来自香港的Dana已在幼儿教育领域深耕23年,表现了她对培养幼儿心智的深厚承诺。

在成为教育工作者之前,Dana曾是一名妇女和儿童法律倡导者,拥有法学学士(法学博士)学位,后在香港大学(HKU)通过研究生文凭课程专攻幼儿教育。她还以优异的成绩获得了香港大学教育领导学硕士学位,进一步提升了其领导能力。

除了学术和专业资格,Dana在课程设计和教师培训方面也非常专业。她曾成功领导浙江省首家幼儿园完成国际文凭组织(IB)课程与中国国家课程的结合。这一在Dana的领导下完成的创新整合,证明了她的战略眼光和驾驭复杂教育框架的能力。

深圳哈罗港人子弟幼儿园园长:从幼儿园到中学,深圳哈罗港人子弟学校的品牌定位贯穿始终,即“精粹港学、科创赋能、培育湾区领航者”。这个品牌定位基于四个方面的特色:为学生们创建的家外之家,融合了哈罗精华的独特课程,学习与玩乐间的最佳平衡,高素质、经验丰富的师资队伍。基于此,学校和家庭能共同为孩子们提供一个舒适安全的环境。

京领:幼儿园的理念和文化在实际办学中有哪些体现?

深圳哈罗港人子弟幼儿园园长:哈罗港人小狮幼儿园主要从以下三方面践行幼儿园的理念和文化。

首先,哈罗港人小狮幼儿园将家庭文化视为学校的核心文化之一,并将其贯彻在日常生活中的各个方面。一个拥有家庭文化的幼儿园能够给孩子带来安全感,也能够给新的年轻父母带来安全感,让他们相信孩子是在一个舒适快乐的环境中生活。

对实现家庭文化而言,了解每个人是非常重要的,教师和家长只要用心都能做到。每天早上我都会在幼儿园门口和孩子、家长打招呼,并会花80%的时间在教室和孩子们待在一起。所以我了解每个孩子,能够就每个孩子的情况与教师进行专业对话,并提供专业的指导。

我也很愿意参与到一线教学岗位担任音乐和体育老师,这是一个能够让我更好地和孩子们互相了解的方式。在相处与交流之中,孩子们会了解到,我是一个尊重他们意见,乐于倾听心声的人,他们因此也很愿意与我分享他们的生活。


高质量地培育一个孩子需要集合整座村庄的力量,家庭文化、村庄文化都很重要,哈罗港人小狮幼儿园就是这样一座村庄。

其次,我们会保证教职工内部沟通的清晰度和流畅度。作为一名领导者,需要了解共事教师的背景,并需要将自己看作一名教师去思考问题。在开学之前,我们会向团队的每位成员简要介绍幼儿园的要求和文化,并依据非常明确的指导原则和文件来支持教职员工按照标准工作。幼儿园也会定期举办培训班来提升教师的专业能力。


但仅停留在理论层面是不够的,以身作则的示范和指导也同样重要。我会向教师们展示我是如何做的,例如如何与孩子们互动、如何与家长们沟通。信息在我们的团队内部是公开透明的,每个人都知道发生了什么,并参与问题的讨论。我们在一个非常开放的环境里携手共进。

最后,我们将传统与现代方法相结合,与每位家长同步孩子的学习情况,让家长更深度地参与到孩子的学习生活中。幼儿园每周会给家长发送一份“每周亮点”学习报告,包含一张孩子的照片及当周取得的成就。此外,为了让家长更好地了解孩子的进步,并能与学校携手提供支持,哈罗港人小狮幼儿园会在指定的周六与家长面对面交流,并每年提供两份纸质成绩报告。为了更好地达成这个目标,幼儿园在去年九月倡议成立了家长教育委员会,举办工作坊等,为家长提供互相交流的机会。

因为报告内容是孩子的学习情况,他们应该得到尊重并有权参与其中。所以孩子们会穿着整齐的校服并佩戴哈罗草帽,与家长一同参与报告发布会,并和老师逐项阅读以更全面地了解学习成果。有的孩子会很自豪地与我分享报告的内容,及他对于下一步的计划,这就是这场活动的意义。

京领:请您介绍一下园区的教学模式有哪些优势和特点?

深圳哈罗港人子弟幼儿园园长:高品质的的幼儿教育其课程模式必须是全面的,在适合幼儿发展的同时又能对他们提出适时的挑战,以激发他们的好奇心和兴奋点。哈罗港人小狮幼儿园将哈罗课程的核心与香港幼儿园课程的精髓相结合,为孩子创造了一个以探究为基础、渐进式沉浸三语教学的学习环境。


哈罗港人小狮的课程有十个核心领域,兼顾了全面性及适配性,让孩子们的声音成为教学的一部分,并确保他们能平稳顺利地过渡到每一个新阶段。在这座养育孩子的村庄里,每个人都需要真正地了解孩子。基于此,大家才能保持警惕、分享交流、集思广益。

哈罗港人小狮课程的最大优势在于东西方文化的良好平衡。三语教育是我们幼儿园的一大特色,我们通过循序渐进的浸入式教学,让孩子对语言的学习和掌握自然地发生。这个过程通常会经历三个阶段。

首先,在逐步引入第二语言和第三语言时,孩子会同时浸润在这两种语言环境中。每个孩子母语的情况不尽相同,不同母语者对新语言的学习和接受节奏也不同,所以所有的班主任老师都能熟练使用三种语言,根据孩子的第一语言有针对性地进行浸入式教学。

其次,孩子们最初更倾向于在使用母语期间思考和表达自己的观点,这是正常的。我们需要给他们时间去适应和进步,他们会逐渐用第二、第三语言进行思考,并更加熟练地切换。


最后,为孩子营造一个安全的语言学习环境非常重要。我们用恰当的交流方式让孩子、家长都对这种学习方式感到安全,并明确地了解每一步需要完成的事情。只有培养好他们对于语言使用的自信心,他们才能做到敢于使用、敢于表达。在语言学习过程中,孩子们也会在融合的文化环境里了解自己是谁,并拥有身份认同。基于此,哈罗港人小狮提供的三语教育模式是非常独特的,这为我们的品牌增添了真正的价值。

京领:幼儿园在人才培养方面有哪些举措?取得了哪些令您骄傲的办学成果?

深圳哈罗港人子弟幼儿园园长:哈罗港人小狮是一所尚为“年轻”的学校,到目前为止取得的成就有三个方面。首先,去年九月开园第一天,没有一个入园的孩子哭。即便有的孩子在第二天对作息时间的变化感到不适应,但他们能顺利度过入园第一天对他们自己及幼儿园而言都是很大的成就。我们希望孩子们可以自在地走进学校,并轻快地度过分离焦虑期。

其次,家长们对幼儿园给予了很大的肯定,获得来自父母的信任也是一项成就。直至今日,每一位家长对我们都充满信任和信心,孩子们也认为这是一个非常安全舒适的环境。比起教学上的成果,这也是一件可持续且值得纪念的事情。

最后,我们在三语教学方面也取得了突破,孩子们的语言发展取得了很大的进步。很多家长并不会说粤语,而他们的孩子在这里以喜人的速度提升粤语的水平并能地道地表达。且孩子们对识字、阅读等都有非常浓厚的兴趣,他们会自主学习、主动提问。

面向未来的乐园

京领:您对幼儿园未来发展趋势的判断是什么?

深圳哈罗港人子弟幼儿园园长:人工智能的发展影响了教育教学的模式,将其引入主流也是国际教育的趋势之一,而幼儿园也是需要拥抱这个变化的。中国有一个智能软件叫Moments 365,学校计划于明年开始使用。我们将用其记录学习情况并巩固学习成果,并将每周的个性化亮点报告发送给家长,家长可以将其作为记录存档。学校能借用人工智能发挥优势,进而提升家长的满意度。我们需要借此和家庭合作,共同拥抱变化。

其次,学校也需要有更开放的心态将技术发展的优势应用到其他方面,例如减轻教师的工作。若技术能替代一些记录或文书的工作,教师们便可以把更多的时间花在实际教学中。哈罗港人小狮开设了数字素养课程来帮助教师、孩子们更好地适应技术的更新,更恰当地运用它们。

在哈罗港人小狮,数字素养的培养并不是作为附加价值被强行纳入课程的,相反,它是探究的一部分。例如,当我们探究一朵花的周期是怎样的时候,有的孩子会提出使用浏览器搜索,我们便会教他们怎么利用网络做研究,怎么使用二维码等等。


最后,未来让更多的家长了解我们的办学理念,让潜在家长了解我们教育的益处是非常重要的。幼儿园阶段,我们主要是让孩子们在游戏中学习,但何为游戏,该如何去标签化地理解游戏等,教育者的看法是不一样的。此外,我们也需要让家长清晰地了解不同国家间教育体系的异同,及哈罗港人小狮的特点。因此,我们需要迎接当前国际教育趋势的挑战,和家长及时地分享最新的信息。

京领:如何进一步提升贵园的品牌影响力和竞争力?

深圳哈罗港人子弟幼儿园园长:哈罗港人小狮是哈罗集团中最年轻的学校,也是大湾区唯一一所三语学校。首先我们需要做到的就是提高认知、提高意识。先从幼儿园内部开始,通过家长大学、家长教育计划等方式促进大家对这个幼儿园品牌的了解。为了切实加强社区关系,我们从九月开始实行了全面开放政策。我们的家长只要提前告诉我们想来幼儿园,就随时可以来。他们可以来阅读、来观摩,也可以来参加小组活动。春节期间我们还请了家长志愿者来教我们的孩子包饺子、练书法。


口碑也是品牌竞争力非常关键的一部分。哈罗港人小狮刚开始时只有 20 个孩子,这个人数到 12 月已经翻了一倍。其中很多家庭并没有参加过任何营销活动,而是通过口耳相传的口碑加入这个大家庭。

哈罗港人小狮与香港的联系也非常密切,这是我们非常特别的地方。我们每年都会举办一次带孩子过境的活动,让他们通过这些跨境体验与香港建立个人连接,并把这项活动推向市场,让家长们了解。

综上而言,我们通过市场宣传、内部和外部的信息交流,让人们了解哈罗港人小狮真正的内核与特色。了解我们不仅是一所港人子弟学校,更是一所同时培养学术严谨性和领导力的学校,我们的目标是为大海湾地区培养未来的领导者。

KingLead: What is the brand positioning of the kindergarten?

Head of HHKCS Kindergarten Section: From kindergarten to high school, the branding of Harrow Hong Kong Children School Shenzhen remains consistent: "Foster future leaders in the Greater Bay Area by capturing the essence of Hong Kong education and harnessing technological innovation." This branding is based on four distinctive features: creating a home away from home, a unique curriculum that integrates the essence of Harrow, the optimal balance between learning and play, and a highly qualified and experienced faculty. With this foundation, the school and families can jointly provide a comfortable and safe environment for children.

KingLead: As the head of a kindergarten, how do you lead the entire staff in practicing the core culture of the kindergarten? What are some of the initiatives?

Head of HHKCS Kindergarten Section: Harrow Little Lions practices its philosophy and culture in three main ways.

Firstly,Harrow Little Lions views family culture as one of the core elements of its school culture, and implement it in all aspects of daily life.A kindergarten that embodies family culture provides a sense of security for children and reassures young parents that their children are in a comfortable and happy environment.

Understanding each individual is crucial to achieving this family culture, and both teachers and parents can accomplish this by being attentive. Every morning, I greet children and parents at the entrance and spend 80% of my time in the classrooms with children. This allows me to know each child and have professional discussions with the teachers about each child's situation, offering expert guidance.

I am also keen to be involved in front-line teaching as a music and physical teacher, which allows me to better build mutual understanding with children. Through interaction and communication, children realize that I respect their opinions and am willing to listen to their voices, making them more willing to share their lives with me.


It takes a village to cultivate a child well, and both family culture and village culture are essential. Harrow Little Lions is indeed such a village.

Secondly, we ensure clear and smooth communication among the staff. As a leader, it is necessary to understand the backgrounds of the teachers and to approach problems from a teacher's perspective. Before the start of the school year, we provide every team member with a brief introduction to the kindergarten and support the staff with clear guidelines and documents to work according to standards. The kindergarten also regularly holds training sessions to enhance the teachers' professional abilities.


However, theoretical knowledge alone is not enough; leading by example and providing guidance are equally important. I demonstrate to the teachers how I interact with the children and communicate with parents. Information is open and transparent within our team, so everyone is aware of what is happening and participates in discussions. We move forwards together in a very open environment.

Lastly, we combine traditional and modern methods to keep parents informed about their children's learning progress and involve them more deeply in their children's educational experiences. The kindergarten sends parents a "Weekly Highlights" report every week, including a photo of their child and their achievements that week. To help parents better understand their child’s progress and are able to work with the school to support their child, Harrow HKCS Little Lions schedule designated Saturday to meet parents face by face and give them two physical report cards a year. To support parents to achieve this goal, HHKCS have established a Parent Education Committee to provide parents with workshops to attend and a forum to share ideas with other parents.

Since the reports detail children's learning progress, kids deserve respect and should have the right to participate in this process. Therefore, children will dress in their uniforms and wear Harrow straw hats to attend the report release with their parents, reviewing each item with the teachers to gain a comprehensive understanding of their learning outcomes. Some children proudly share the report content with me and discuss their plans for the next steps, which is the essence of this activity.

This Is A Habitat of Trilingual Education and Cultural Integration

KingLead: Could you tell us what are the strengths and characteristics of the faculty and teaching model of the kindergarten?

Head of HHKCS Kindergarten Section: High-quality early childhood education requires a comprehensive curriculum that supports child development while providing timely challenges to spark their curiosity and excitement.Harrow Little Lions combines the core of the Harrow curriculum with the essence of Hong Kong kindergarten education, creating an inquiry-based, progressively immersive trilingual learning environment.


The Harrow Little Lions curriculum encompasses ten core areas, balancing comprehensiveness and adaptability, allowing children's voices to be part of the teaching process and ensuring smooth transitions through each new stage. In this nurturing village, everyone must genuinely know children to stay vigilant, share insights, and brainstorm.

The greatest advantage of the Harrow Little Lions curriculum lies inits excellent balance between Eastern and Western cultures. Trilingual education is a great feature of our kindergarten, where children naturally acquire and master languages through a gradual immersive process.This process typically unfolds in three stages.

First, as the second and third languages are gradually introduced, children are immersed in both language environments simultaneously. Since each child's native language varies, and their pace of learning and accepting new languages differs, all classroom head teachers are proficient in three languages. They tailor the immersive teaching based on the child's first language.

Second, children initially tend to think and express their thoughts in their mother tongue, which is normal. They need time to adapt and progress, eventually thinking in the second and third languages and becoming more adept at switching between them.


Finally, creating a safe language learning environment for children is crucial. We use appropriate communication methods to ensure that children and parents feel secure about this learning approach and clearly understand each step that needs to be completed. By fostering their confidence in using languages, children become willing to use and express themselves. During the language learning process, children will also know who they are and gain self-identification within the integrated cultural environment. This unique trilingual education model provided by Harrow Little Lions adds genuine value to our brand.

KingLead: What are the initiatives of the kindergarten in terms of children's upbringing? What is the biggest achievement of this kindergarten that you are proud of in term of cultivating talents?

Head of HHKCS Kindergarten Section: Harrow Little Lions is still a relatively "young" school, but it has already achieved success in three key areas. First, on the opening day last September, none of our children cried. Although some children felt uneasy about the new schedule on the second day, the fact that they smoothly got through the first day is a significant achievement for both the children and the kindergarten. We aim for children to enter the school comfortably and pass through the separation anxiety period with ease.

Secondly, parents have shown great appreciation for the kindergarten, and earning their trust is a notable accomplishment. To this day, every parent has confidence and trust in us, and the children feel that this is a very safe and comfortable environment. Beyond academic outcomes, this trust and confidence are big achievements worth celebrating.

Lastly, we have made breakthroughs in trilingual education, with significant progress in the children's language development. Many parents do not speak Cantonese, yet their children have rapidly improved their Cantonese proficiency and can express themselves fluently. Additionally, children have developed a strong interest in literacy and reading, engaging in self-directed learning and actively asking questions.

This Is An Open andInclusive Paradise, Oriented Towards The Future

KingLead: What is your judgement on the future development trend of kindergartens?

Head of HHKCS Kindergarten Section: The development of artificial intelligence (AI) is impacting educational and teaching models, and integrating AI into mainstream education is one of the global trends. Kindergartens also need to embrace this change. In China, there is an intelligent software called Moments 365, which our school will be using to document learning progress and reinforce learning outcomes next year. We plan to send personalized weekly highlight reports to parents, which they can keep as records. Leveraging AI helps enhance parental satisfaction, and it is crucial for us to collaborate with families to embrace this change together.

Additionally, schools need to adopt an open mindset to apply the advantages of technological advancements in other areas, such as reducing the workload of teachers. If technology can take over some administrative or documentation tasks, teachers can spend more time on actual teaching. Harrow Little Lions has introduced digital literacy courses to help teachers and children better adapt to technological updates and use them appropriately.

At Harrow Little Lions, cultivating digital literacy is not forcibly added as an extra value; rather, it is integrated into our inquiry-based learning. For example, when exploring the life cycle of a flower, if a child suggests using a browser to search for information, we teach them how to conduct online research and use QR codes and so on.


Lastly, it is crucial to make our educational philosophy known to more parents and potential families, highlighting the benefits of our approach. In kindergarten, we primarily focus on learning through play, but the concept of play and how to understand it without labels can vary among educators. Moreover, we need to clearly explain to parents the differences and similarities between various national education systems and the unique features of Harrow Little Lions. Therefore, we must embrace the challenges of current international educational trends and share the latest information with parents in a timely manner.

KingLead: How to further enhance the brand influence and competitiveness of your kindergarten?

Head of HHKCS Kindergarten Section: Harrow Little Lions is the youngest school within the Harrow Group and the only trilingual school in the Greater Bay Area. Our first priority is to raise awareness and consciousness. Starting from within the kindergarten, we promote understanding of our brand through initiatives like Parent University and Parent Education Programs. To strengthen community relations, we implemented an open-door policy from September onwards. Parents can visit the kindergarten anytime by simply notifying us in advance. They can read, observe, or participate in group activities. During the Spring Festival, we even invited parent volunteers to teach our children how to make dumplings and practice calligraphy.


Reputation is also a crucial part of our brand competitiveness. When Harrow Little Lions initially started, it had only 20 children, but by December, this number had doubled. Many families joined our community through word of mouth without participating in any marketing activities.

Our close connection with Hong Kong is another special aspect of Harrow Little Lions. We organize an annual cross-border activity for children to establish personal connections with Hong Kong through these cross-border experiences. We also promote this activity in the market to inform parents.

In summary, through marketing, internal and external communication, we aim to help people understand the true essence and characteristics of Harrow Hong Kong Children School. We want people to know that we are not just a school for Hong Kong children;we are also a school that cultivates academic rigor and leadership simultaneously. Our goal is to nurture future leaders for the Greater Bay Area.
