8月20日，由文化和旅游部、新疆维吾尔自治区人民政府、新疆生产建设兵团联合主办的“打起手鼓唱起歌”首届中国新疆民间艺术季在乌鲁木齐开幕。来自全国各省（区、市）47个民间艺术团队的约1800名演员，献上《高桩醒狮》《铜梁龙舞》《达瓦孜》《金刀郎》《黑走马》等精彩的民间艺术展演。
