据《以色列时报》报道，当地时间10月6日，以色列国防军称，从加沙发射的一枚火箭弹在触发以色列城市阿什凯隆和附近地区的防空警报后被击落。
以色列国防军还表示，在同时发射的火箭弹中，有数量不明的火箭弹落入空旷地区。
另据央视新闻客户端报道，6日当天，巴勒斯坦伊斯兰圣战组织（杰哈德）下属武装派别“圣城旅”承认实施此次袭击。
