大卫·瑞雷丨我的告别诗——献给中国

在周四，大卫老师踏上了回美国的航班。在中国生活了14年之后，大卫老师再度开启了人生的新旅程，回到美国长期居住和生活。

当然，他依旧在若道教学，教授着即将到来的新一期的核心课程。在未来，他也会每年回到中国进行线下教学活动。这是他于离开前的一天写下的内容：

My Farewell Poem to China

October 16, 2024

Recently, in a place nearby
It was 2008 then 2010
I made a new friend
We were all friends then

People nearly everywhere
Felt the promise of the future
You had done so well
I was so impressed

Everywhere you welcomed me
The sign of life was in your eyes
It made me young again
And just as foolish

So, I labored past my prime
The labor of love
For all my students
How could I resist you?

A teacher is no one
Without his students
Just someone on the subway
Or hurrying along the sidewalk

But with my colleagues
Side by side
Often late into the night
Streamed endless classes and workshops

You made this happen for me
And in return I gave you everything I knew
And I kept learning too
I learned from you

It’s supposed to rain tomorrow
A cold autumn rain
I’ll be dreaming of Beijing
When I’m asleep on the plane

我的告别诗——献给中国

（2024年10月16日）

不久前，在一个不远的地方
那时是2008年，然后是2010年
我结识了一位新朋友
那时我们都是朋友

几乎每个地方的人
都让人感受到未来的希望
你做得如此出色
我深感钦佩

处处你欢迎我
人们眼中生命的光
也让我焕发了年轻的活力
让我重拾曾经的天真

于是我继续耕耘，超越时光
这是爱的劳作，深情绵长
为我所有的学生，倾注心力
面对你，我怎能不情愿奉上？

没有学生，老师不过行人
或是地铁上，街道旁的匆匆过客

但与同事并肩前行，
奋战到深夜
无数课堂与工作坊，让我们光辉璀璨

你为我创造了这一切
我倾尽所知，与你分享所有
我也在不停学习
从你们身上学到了很多很多

明天据说会下起秋雨
一场冰冷的秋雨，带着离愁别绪
我将梦回北京
在飞向远方的航班上进入梦乡
