On October 27, in the WTA500 Tokyo tournament women's singles final, top seed and Chinese player Zheng Qinwen defeated former Australian Open champion Kenin with a score of 2-0 to win the championship.
This victory marks Zheng Qinwen's third championship this season following her wins at the Palermo tournament and the Paris Olympics. This year, Zheng Qinwen has reached the finals of five events, securing three championships and two runner-up finishes.
