　　“衣食住行”常用来指代人们的日常生活，其中“衣”排在首位。“衣”在一定情况下代表了人的身份地位以及审美品位。代表中国传统元素的服装有汉服、唐装、旗袍。

　　服饰文化Costume Culture(节选)

　　(一)汉服 Hanfu

　　汉服又称汉衣冠、汉装、华服。它不是指汉代的服饰，而是指汉民族传统服饰。在古代汉服文化很复杂，包括全套的服装和饰品，不但讲究审美，还要符合礼制，有一套详细的规则，是华夏民族礼仪文化的体现。

　　Hanfu, also known as Han Crown, Han dress, Chinese clothing, in general refers to the traditional costumes of the Han nationality,and not to the Han Dynasty. In ancient times, clothing culture was very complex. It included a full set of clothing and jewelry, not only paid attention to aesthetic, but was also in line with the ritual, a set of detailed rules, and was the embodiment of the Chinese national etiquette culture.

　　(二)唐装 Tang Costume

　　近年来，唐装在中国非常流行。每到春节，人们喜欢穿唐装去拜年。那么唐装是怎么来的呢?唐装也并不是唐朝的服装，之所以叫唐装是因为人们习惯把一切和中国有关的事物冠以“唐”来形容。事实上，唐装受到满族(中国少数民族之一)服装和西装的影响。

　　In recent years, Tang costume has become very popular in China. So how did the Tang costume come about? Tang costume is not the clothing of the Tang Dynasty. The clothing is called “Tang dress” because people are used to putting “Tang” before everything related to China. In fact, Tang clothing is influenced by the clothing of Manchu ethnic group (one of Chinese minority groups) and the western suit.

　　(三)旗袍 Cheongsam

　　中国的旗袍，在英语中被翻译为Chinese dress。旗袍原本是“旗人长袍”的简称。旗人指中国的少数民族——满族。旗袍虽然起源于满族，但已超越它原本的形象，随着时代的发展，旗袍的设计也不断地发生变化。

　　China’s chi-pao (or cheongsam) is translated to “Chinese dress” in English. Chipao is short for “Qiren changpao”, and “Qiren” refers to the Manchu ethnic group in China. Although chi-pao originated from the Manchu culture, it goes beyond it. With the development of the times , the design of chi-pao changes constantly.

　　旗袍带有布条盘成的花儿，叫盘花扣，是中国古代服饰的一大特点，也是旗袍上重要的点缀。穿旗袍能够很好地体现女性的身体曲线。现在，越来越多的女性喜欢穿旗袍。

　　The flower-setting button is a unique characteristic of the ancient Chinese clothing and an important ornament on chi-pao (cheongsam). Wearing a chi-pao could well present the female body, so more and more women like to wear chipao nowadays.
