据日本气象厅消息，当地时间23日上午7时29分左右，樱岛南岳山顶火山口发生爆炸性喷发，火山灰柱高度达到火山口上方3400米处。
日本气象厅继续将火山爆发警戒级别维持在限制入山的3级。
