上海宝山区世外学校(以下简称“宝山世外”)作为世外教育集团的标杆性直属校,自 2019年创校以来已跨入第六个学年,学校先后开办了小学部、初中部、高中国内部、高中融合部等三个学段、四个学部。在250余名一线教师的陪伴下,1500余名在校生茁壮成长、精彩绽放,已毕业的近400名各学段优秀校友正带着宝外的校园青春印记,于海内外知名学校的舞台上闪闪发光,彰显着世外“积极参与、努力实践”之下的自信、优雅、积极、勇毅的精神内涵,诠释了宝外学子“心怀天下、锐意进取、开放包容、卓越不凡”的个性品质。学校目前已发展成为社会声誉好、品牌影响力广的高水平K-12民办学校,是学校、家庭、社区、社会协同育人的办学典范。

2022年9月宝山世外站在世外母体校多年国际教育领先发展和深厚积淀的肩膀上,结合本校的办学特点,践行世外教育集团“让学生走向世界,让世界走进学校”的办学理念,开启了高中学段融合教育之路,成立高中融合部,实施在“五育并举”下的融合课程的教学实践和创新探索。通过开设丰富的学术进阶课程和全人发展课程,经由专业导师带教、施以小班教学培养、倡导科学实验探究、突出项目化学习等形式,培养学生拥有高尚的品格和德行、全面的素养和能力、宽广的视野和胸怀、持久的志向和特长,为进入世界范围内的顶尖大学继续学习深造奠基。宝山世外在做好充分的跨学段课程建设、师资储备培养、海外资源构建、升学路径设计之后,现正式开启自六年级开始的初中融合部。

为帮助学生延承中国传统文化、厚植家国情怀、拓宽全球视野、夯实本土优势学科能力、突出个性特长和发展方向,并为未来升入高中奠定扎实的学业基础,宝山世外初中融合部(6年级至8年级)将在核心课程和校本课程两大板块为学生搭建成长脚手架和心灵蓄能池。

初中阶段是学生创造力生发、学术能力奠基、意志品质锤炼、人际交往发展的重要阶段,为此初中融合部将积极结合学生未来升学所需和全人发展的必需,于课程实施中全面贯彻“强调主题式、重视项目化、提升思维度”,为孩子的发展赋能。

教学模式

初中融合部基于学习空间及其学习形式的四种不同组合,将在教学模式上做优化布局,融合了导学、教学、研学、自学四种学习形式,引领学生学会学习、学会探究、学会反思。

学生评价

在学生评价方面强调过程性与结果性并重,实现初中学段综合学业评价与国际同学段学业评价并轨。

Shanghai Baoshan World Foreign Language School (hereinafter referred to as "Baoshan WFLS"), as a flagship direct school under the World Foreign Language Education Group, has entered its sixth academic year since its establishment in 2019. The school has successively established three educational stages and four divisions, including the Elementary School Division, the Junior High School Division, the Senior High School National Division, and the Senior High School Integrated Division. Under the guidance of over 250 frontline teachers, more than 1,500 students are thriving and blossoming brilliantly. Nearly 400 outstanding alumni from various stages have graduated, carrying the youthful imprints of Baoshan WFLS, and shining on the stages of renowned schools both at home and abroad. They embody the confident, elegant, proactive, and courageous spirit of the World Foreign Language ethos of "active participation and diligent practice," and exemplify the individual qualities of Baoshan WFLS students: "global-minded, determined to forge ahead, open and inclusive, and exceptionally outstanding." The school has now developed into a high-level K-12 private educational institution with a strong social reputation and widespread brand influence, serving as a model for collaborative education among schools, families, communities, and society.

In September 2022, Baoshan World Foreign Language School, standing on the shoulders of years of leading international education development and the profound accumulation of its parent school, and combining its own educational characteristics, embarked on the path of integrated education at the high school level. Adhering to the educational philosophy of the World Foreign Language Education Group, "Let students go global, and bring the world into the school," the school established the High School Integrated Division. This division implements teaching practices and innovative explorations of an integrated curriculum under the principle of "all-round education with equal emphasis on moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor education." By offering a rich array of advanced academic courses and holistic development programs, and through professional mentorship, small-class teaching, the promotion of scientific experimental inquiry, and an emphasis on project-based learning, the school aims to cultivate students with noble character and morality, comprehensive literacy and abilities, a broad vision and global mindset, and enduring aspirations and specialties, laying a foundation for their continued studies at top universities worldwide. After thorough preparation in cross-stage curriculum construction, faculty training, overseas resource building, and academic pathway design, Baoshan World Foreign Language School is now officially launching Integrated Junior High School Division, starting from the sixth grade.

What curriculum system supports student growth and skill advancement?

To help students inherit traditional Chinese culture, cultivate a deep sense of national identity, broaden their global perspectives, strengthen their proficiency in core local subjects, highlight their individual talents and developmental directions, and lay a solid academic foundation for their future advancement to high school, the integrated class of the Junior High Division at Baoshan World Foreign Language School (grades 6 to 8) will build a growth scaffold and a reservoir of mental energy for students through two major curriculum components: the core curriculum and the school-based curriculum.

What are the distinctive features of the teaching implementation and educational model compared to other schools?

Curriculum Practice

The middle school years are a crucial stage for the blossoming of creativity, the laying of academic foundations, the tempering of willpower and character, and the development of interpersonal skills. To this end, Integrated Junior High School Division will actively integrate students’ future academic needs with the essentials of holistic development. In curriculum implementation, we will fully embrace the principles of "emphasizing thematic learning, valuing project-based approaches, and enhancing the depth of thinking," thereby empowering children's growth.

Teaching Model

Integrated Junior High School Division, based on four different combinations of learning spaces and their corresponding learning formats, will optimize the layout of its teaching model. This model integrates four learning formats: guided learning, instructional learning, inquiry-based learning, and self-directed learning, leading students to learn how to study, how to explore, and how to reflect.

Student Assessment

In terms of student assessment, equal emphasis is placed on both process and outcomes, aiming to align the comprehensive academic evaluation of the junior high school phase with international academic evaluations at the same educational stage.
