据多家日媒报道，日本西部冈山县和爱媛县的山火持续蔓延，过火面积已经超过900公顷。
据《日本时报》报道，截至26日下午，在冈山县冈山市发生的山火，过火面积已扩大到约559公顷；在爱媛县今治市发生的山火，过火面积达到约417公顷。
据日本广播协会(NHK)报道，本次山火自23日爆发以来，火势仍未得到控制，灭火工作在持续进行中。
当地市政府表示，目前尚无人员伤亡的报告。
